Milton Lee Pulley
Milton was born on November 17, 1920; he was the oldest son of Samuel W. and Josephine Mastine Hogwood Pulley, 25 Main Street, Ettrick, VA. and was one of seven children.
He worked at Eane's Grocery Store growing up and also drove their delivery truck prior to being inducted into the Army.
He was inducted into the Army on 8 December 1942 and entered active service 15 December 1942 in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was assigned to Company A, 752nd Tank Battalion located at Fort Knox, Kentucky as a Cannoneer.

Milton was involved was in several battles and campaigns during the second World War seeing action in Rome, Arno, No Aennines and Po Valley.
Among his numerous awards and citations he was awarded the CIB(Combat Infantry Badge), Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Carbine, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Distinguished Unit Badge and the World War II Victory Ribbon.
When he returned home, he married his sweetheart Mary Eloise Maddra, daughter of Lewis and Lillie Bell Edwards Maddra also lifelong residents of Ettrick.
He passed away at home in Ettrick December 10, 1983.
